BOAT RACE BECOMES PART OF LABOR DAY WEEKEND!

With a subpar weather day forcing the fun back one week, this Saturday night becomes the moment where it’s time to ‘bring on the boats’ as Windsor Auto Sales presents ‘Nicks Beatin & Bangin Boat Race!’ The truly unique rolling demo derby on a liquidfied race track features competitors smashing and bashing their way around the Speedway while slipping and sliding through the water, with each competitor going after the boats chained to the back end of their competitor’s vehicles. The driver who has any kind of boat left dragging at the end of the race is declared the winner, meaning there is ‘no winner ’til the last boat sails.’

Advance tickets are STILL available for the Beatin & Bangin Boat Race. Sections D, E & F are ‘Reserved Seating,’ while the rest of the Grandstands (front and backstretch) are General Admission. Reserved seating is $18 for ages 12 and over and $9 for ages 6-11. General admission is $15 for ages 12 and over, with ages 6-11 admitted for $5. Kids 5 and under are FREE this Saturday night! Tickets are available online (rockfordspeedway.com), by phone (815-633-1500) or in person at the Rockford Speedway Main Office during regular business hours. Tickets purchased for last week’s rain out are good for this weekend’s event.

The evening also includes a full night of short track racing excitement as the Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models, Bargain Hunter Sportsman, Miller Lite American Short Trackers and Kickstart Roadrunners jockey for position just one week away from the crowning of 2017 Track Champions. Grandstands open at 5 PM, with racing set to begin at 7:07 PM. Don’t miss Nick’s Beatin & Bangin Boat Race presented by Windsor Auto Sales, now slated for this Saturday night September 2!

‘NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS’ AND ‘NIGHT OF THRILLS’ COMING UP

Next Saturday night September 9, it’s Whelen Engineering ‘Night of Champions,’ where 2017 Track Champions will be crowned for the Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models, Bargain Hunter Sportsman, Miller Lite American Short Trackers and Kickstart Roadrunners. Along with the full program of short track excitement next Saturday night, the Roadrunner Challenge champion is set to be crowned with the annual running of the ‘Outhouse Race!’ Grandstands open at 5 PM on ‘Night of Champions,’ with racing set to begin at 7:07 PM. One week later, on Saturday September 16, Miller Lite presents ‘Night of Thrills.” This year’s Night of Thrills brings Monster Trucks, the Green Mamba Jet Car, School Bus Bus Figure 8, One-on-One Spectacular Drags and Hornet Double Features, along with much more. A Pre-Show Party will be held on the track from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM, giving fans the chance to meet the drivers and performers while getting up close and personal with some of the vehicles. Tickets are available in advance for Miller Lite Night of Thrills, online (rockfordspeedway.com), by phone (815-633-1500) or in person at the Rockford Speedway Offices during regular business hours.
