ROCKFORD SPEEDWAY WEEKLY DIVISIONS
Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models
The Speed Demons of the Rockford Speedway, the Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models are the feature division in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series which pits Rockford’s best against the top NASCAR Home Track talent across the nation in a National Point Championship Race. Featuring made for racing machines, this class dazzles all in attendance with mind boggling speed, daring drivers and awesome maneuvers in Fender-Banging, Wall-Slamming, Short Track Excitement!
Bargain Hunter Sportsman
Two of America’s most popular divisions are rolled into one at Rockford Speedway when the Bargain Hunter Sportsman hit the high banks. Traditional Sportsman type cars such as Monte Carlos go head to head with the open wheeled madness of the Modifieds. Different tire compounds as well as weight allowances equalize the field providing wheel to wheel action.
Miller Lite American Short Trackers
The distinct sound of precisely tuned four-cylinder powerplants awaken the senses as the Miller Lite American Short Trackers scream around the high-banked quarter mile in true pedal to the metal outlaw fashion. Slicing and dicing through the turns, drivers barely lift their foot off the accelerator before applying the power to the track and hanging on tight as they fight for the checkered flag.
Kickstart Road Runners
The Wild and Wacky Kickstart RoadRunners are as rough and tough as they come. Drivers on the edge of disaster running two, three and four wide push their cars to the limit each and every time around the track. Tires squealing, smoking and sliding sideways through the turns are all part of the RoadRunner experience that has allowed this division to call Rockford Speedway home for over thirty years of excitement.
Racer Girl Winged Women on Wheels
As the division name suggests, this is the time for the ladies to shine and show off their skills on the track, piloting Hornet cars with wings on their roofs. Since 1974, Rockford Speedway has encouraged women to compete in this class with many progressing up the racing ladder throughout the years. If you know a woman that would like to get their start in racing on the high-banked oval, the Racer Girl Winged Women on Wheels is both a cost-effective and fun option.
The Crap Scrappers Hornets are a terrific entry level division with few deviations from stock, allowing you to go from the stands into the driver’s seat. Standing two wide starts, creative designs and simple rules provide the blueprint for constant excitement. Racing on the Monza Course, which challenges drivers abilities as they are forced to dive through a chicane, action is just around the next corner.
Manic Motor Madness as drivers tempt fate racing through the ‘X of Doom’ just inches from impact, or at least they hope so. Wearing courage on their sleeves, these daredevils dash in and out of danger when for an instant, everyone’s heart skips a beat as another near miss sends shivers through the crowd.
