This Saturday night August 19 is ‘Summer’s Last Stand’ presented by K&N Filters, with tons of prizes on the line for fans and five divisions of short track racing excitement on track! As far as the prizes go, it all starts as soon as fans walk through the gate; the first 500 people “through the door” Saturday night receive a FREE Drawstring Bag courtesy of K&N Filters. Then, during the night, $1000 dollars worth of K&N Gift Cards will be given away, with K&N Prizes also on the line for select Feature winners.

As for the racing, there is something for everyone, with FIVE divisions set to hit the track. The Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models headline the night, fresh off a scintillating Feature last Saturday which saw Mitch Garfield steal the lead from Max Kahler on the white flag lap while then holding off a late-race rally from Michael Bilderback en route to his first victory of 2017. Also on the card Saturday are the Miller Lite American Short Trackers, Kickstart Roadrunners, Hornets and Illini Midgets,

Grandstands open at 5 PM this Saturday with the CoLin Metals Fast Dashes getting things started at 7:07 PM. Come and be part of all the winning and the action this Saturday night August 19 at ‘Summers Last Stand’ presented by K&N Filters!

Next week, it’s time to ‘bring on the boats’ as Windsor Auto Sales presents ‘Nicks Beatin & Bangin Boat Race!’ You’ll see boats without trailers, towed by cars, trucks and vans on a liquefied race track with no winner ’til the last boat sails’ in this truly unique rolling demo derby!

Tickets are available in advance for the Beatin & Bangin Boat Race. Sections D, E & F are ‘Reserved Seating’ for the event, while the rest of the Grandstands (front and backstretch) are General Admission. Tickets are available online (rockfordspeedway.com), by phone (815-633-1500) or in person at the Rockford Speedway Main Office during regular business hours.

The Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models, Bargain Hunter Sportsman, Kickstart Roadrunners and American Super Cups are scheduled to race on Windsor Auto Sales Night, with Grandstands open at 5 PM, with racing set to begin at 7:07 PM. Don’t miss Nick’s Beatin & Bangin Boat Race next weekend!

As a reminder, Rockford Speedway IS RACING on Saturday night September 2 with ‘Prelude to the Championship.’ The evening, which was added to the schedule after multiple early-season rainouts, gives drivers one last chance to jockey for points position before Championship Night seven days later. The Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models, Bargain Hunter Sportsman, Miller Lite American Short Trackers, Kickstart Roadrunners and Northern Vintage Cars will all be in action on September 2. One week later, on Whelen Engineering ‘Night of Champions,’ Track Champions will be crowned for 2017. Again the Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models, Bargain Hunter Sportsman, Miller Lite American Short Trackers and Kickstart Roadrunners are on the schedule along with the Roadrunner Challenge ‘Outhouse Race!’ Grandstands open at 5 PM both nights, with racing set to begin at 7:07 PM.
