Over 30 BRP Big 8 Series presented by Gandrud Chevrolet limited late models are in the pits right now and they are joined by over 30 super late models as the 44th annual National Short Track Championships are underway with on-track activities. The first session of rotating practice has gotten off to a quick start as all divisions are getting time to warm up to the high-banks of the historic Rockford Speedway. The weather has dried up and the radar's looking clear for the racing program this evening.

The action gets underway tonight at 5:30pm with Nason's Landscaping 'Faster Than A Speeding Bullet' Qualifying with spectator gates opening at 4pm. A full docket featuring the Weekly Warriors kicks off 'One Great Racing Weekend' at 7:07pm sharp with the green flag waving on the Weekly Warrior Late Models, All-American Sportsman, RoadRunners and the second annual Hornet/Bandit Challenge.
