It will be run in two segments, at the halfway mark the race will stop for five minutes on the front straightaway where the fans can enjoy watching old school style pit stops. The drivers and crews will be allowed to change tires, gears or whatever can be completed during the five minute stop. The race will be restarted with the lineup as it was at the end of lap 25.
Preliminary events will include two qualifying laps per car with a $100 bonus for the fastest time, a six car, six lap Trophy Dash, 15 lap Race of Champions, Semi-Feature and American Super Cup support events.
Grand Marshall for the Championship Feature will be former USAC Star Sal Tovella and his 1970 Plymouth Superbird Stock Car. He will return to the famous Rockford Speedway for the first time since the 1960’s.
