Loves Park, IL (September 1, 2010) Hinkley Springs proudly presents the Championship Countdown with a Fireworks display this Saturday. All four weekly divisions will be present and ready to race. The point battles tighten as just two weeks remain in the weekly points races.
The Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models have seen some interesting finishes these past few weeks, both the point leader Tim Sargent and second place Jon Reynolds Jr. have been to victory lane in August. Only 15 points separate the two competitors, Driver X’s win last week slashed Sargent’s lead in half.
The Bargain Hunter Sportsman points leader Matt Berger leads last years champ Doug Bennett by a mere 29 points. It will be a tight battle for the two competitors, they often finish races one behind the other. This past Saturday Bennett finished third while Berger finished fourth.
The Budweiser American Short Tracker points leader Kyle Lapier has visited victory lane four times this year. Lapier has a 16 point lead over Nick Cina Jr., with third place BJ Sparkman just four points behind Cina. It’s any man’s game this Saturday, with tempers rising and passions flaring, the Championship is up for grabs.
Robert Roush has a strong lead over Jason Van Hise in the Mtn Dew RoadRunner points battle, Roush leads by 56 points. Roush is also sitting atop the Sam’s Drive-In RoadRunner Challenge standings.
The racing action begins at 7:07, with a fireworks display presented by Cost Cutters to follow, adult general admission is $10, admission is $5 for kids 6-11 and kids five and under are admitted free.
