Portage, WI- A large contingent of asphalt tracks unanimously selected the S800 Hoosier Racing Tire for use at their tracks for classes utilizing eight inch tires during the 2013 and 2014 race seasons. The tire which offers a stiffened sidewall has provided great results at tracks ¼ mile in length up to 5/8 mile in length under racing conditions.
“All of us at Hoosier are excited to be part of the action at these great tracks.” Stated Hoosier Racing Tire’s Irish Saunders. “This is big for racing in the greater Wisconsin area and we are glad to be part of it.” Seven of the tracks switching to the S800 have had previous events contested on tires from the 800 family and will now take advantage of the stiffer construction this season and beyond.
The Hoosier S800 tire will be utilized on both the right and left side of the racecar, providing additional stability throughout each lap of competition. Tires will be available for purchase from the tracks listed below, with the first tire sales of 2013 expected to take place in mid-March. Tire prices are expected to be comparable to 2012 prices at the area tracks.
