‘Wild Wednesdays” at the Rockford Speedway just got a little more “super.”
Speedway officials have decided to add the Super Cup division to the Wednesday night racing lineup, which also features Roadrunners, Bandits, Winged Women on Wheels and Misfits.
Super Cup cars and the Rockford Speedway have a long history together. When the car that would eventually become known as the ‘Super Cup’ was just getting established in the late 1990’s, Rockford Speedway was one of a couple tracks very important to series’ early development. The ½ scale racers now compete on several short tracks throughout Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana.
“This is an open call to any and all Super Cup cars looking to do some racing on Wednesday nights,” said Rockford Speedway General Manager Gregg McKarns, “the addition of Super Cup racing on Wild Wednesdays will also give some of the younger Super Cup drivers a chance to gain more experience behind the wheel of a race car.”
Wednesday night racing action at Rockford Speedway returns this June 12th, with the first green flag waving at 7:07 PM. Adult general admission on Wild Wednesdays is just $9, and every Wednesday night is also Dollar Beer Night.
