"One Great Racing Weekend" returns for the 48th straight year this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Rockford Speedway!
The National Short Track Championships (NSTC) includes 14 divisions over three days testing Rockford Speedway's "high banks!"
Friday night @ 7:07 PM- It's the 'Championship Round' of the Gilley’s Cool 5 Series! The main event Friday evening will be a 48 lap, $900 to win 'Weekly Warrior' Late Model Feature. Also on the card Friday night will be 40 lap features for the Sportsman, American Short Trackers and Roadrunners. Returning again to Short Track Weekend will be the 25 lap Hornet vs. Bandit Challenge, a race pitting four cylinder racers from across the Midwest against each other for bragging rights and prize money! The opening night of NSTC will conclude with the 15 lap Championship Figure 8 feature race!
Saturday is a full day of racing with six different divisions taking to the track! You’ll see over 30 top Super Late Model drivers on-track together for the first time Saturday, along with the Big 8 Late Models presented by Gandrud Chevrolet, the Great Northern Sportsman Series and Hobby Stox. Also Saturday, the Illini Racing Series Midgets and Illinois Vintage Racers will take part in the festivities and crown their season long champions! Nason’s Landscaping "Faster Than a Speeding Bullet Qualifying" begins at 2:15 PM, followed by a busy racing program on "Short Track Saturday Night" which gets underway at 5:05 PM. Highlighting Saturday night’s program will be a 108 lap feature event for the Big 8 Late Models, plus 50 lap features for the Great Northern Sportsman Series and Illini Midgets as well as a 30 lap Hobby Stox feature and a 20 lap Vintage feature. The Super Late Models will contest their preliminary events on Saturday night too, in preparation for Sunday’s main event
'Championship Sunday' begins at 12:30 PM Sunday afternoon and includes Super Late Model Last Chance Racing and the 48th Annual National Short Track Championship 200 lap Super Late Model feature! The Mid American Stock Car Series returns for the 21st straight year to NSTC and will contest a 75 lap feature race. Also on the docket will be the Weekly Late Model Ultimate Challenge Race and One-on-One Late Model Match Racing.

Tickets are available now for all three days of National Short Track Championships at the Box Office, by calling 815-633-1500 or at the Main Ticket Window on Race Days. Sections D, E and F of the main grandstand will be "Reserved Seating" for the weekend, all ages are required to buy a ticket when purchasing Reserved Seating. Friday night Reserved Seating is available at $15 for adults and $5 for ages 11 and under, Saturday night Reserved Seating is $20 for Adults and $10 for ages 11 and under while Sunday Reserved Seating is $24 for adults and $12 for ages 11 and under.
General admission seating is also available for all three days of NSTC Weekend. General admission prices apply to Sections A, B, C, G, H and J of the Main Grandstand and the Backstretch Bleachers. Adult general admission prices are $12 for Friday night, $18 for Saturday night and $20 for Sunday afternoon. General admission Students ages 12-17 are admitted for $8 on Friday night, $9 on Saturday night and $10 on Sunday afternoon. General admission Children ages 6-11 are admitted for $5 each day while general admission kids ages 5 and under are free each day!
Overnight Parking will again be permitted during NSTC Weekend, with Overnight Parking spots being awarded on a 'first come, first serve’ basis.
