LOVES PARK, IL (Wednesday, July 23, 2008) – Mike Swanson would go wire-to-wire and take home his first Wild Wednesday feature win on Rockford Industrial Welding Supply night at Rockford Speedway. John Beinlich, Laura Siarkiewicz, Matt Mangiaracina, Matt Booker, Cody Cootware and Chris Gantz also picked up feature wins.

Swanson was the early leader in the 25-lap feature for the RoadRunner Super Summer Series. Christopher Jones ran second and stayed close to the leader throughout the event.

With five laps to go, Jones would peak to the inside but Swanson would hold on to the top spot. This allowed Swanson to get a one car length advantage.

Swanson would hold on to the lead and take the checkered flag with Jones in second. Charlie Frisch would come through the field and finish third.

Beinlich took home Allison Legacy feature honors after holding off Dwight Dunlap in the 15-lap feature.

Dunlap was able to get to the rear bumper of Beinlich with five laps to go after Dave Cooter Jr. spun in turns three and four. On the re-start Beinlich was able to pull away from Dunlap to take the win.

Olivia Chance was the early leader in 12-lap Stateline Staffing Service Winged Women on Wheels feature event. She would hold on to the lead until Laura Siarkiewicz got alongside her at the halfway mark. Siarkiewicz would take over the top spot with five laps to go.

Siarkiewicz would then go on to hold off Chance for the win. Sarah Trank was third.

Jake Vicencio was the early leader in the Hornet Swarm but he missed the turn into the Monza infield and that handed the lead over to Mark Vicencio.

Current point leader Matt Mangiaracina got past Vicencio with three laps to go and would go on to take another checkered flag. Vicencio was second with Roger Schultz in third.

Booker would pick up the INEX Legends feature win.

It was a wild start to the feature as Colin Comastra appeared to have something break going into turn three, on the opening lap of the 15-lap feature event, and he went straight to the wall taking Maxx McNamara with him. Both made hard contact and were done for the night. Both drivers were able to walk away.

On the re-start it was Michael Cooter leading over Matt Booker and Rachel Pinkerman. Booker would make a challenge for the lead with 10 laps to go and the two would race side-by-side for two laps with Booker taking the top spot with 8 laps to go.

Booker would go on and hold off Cooter for the win with Pinkerman in third.

Cory Cootware held off Kyle Vergata to win the 10-lap Bandolero feature. Cootware got the lead as the green flag dropped and never looked back. Ben Carnes was third.

Tom Schneider tried but he couldn’t prevail as Chris Gantz used a last lap past to get by and win another Figure 8 feature win. Sabrina Castillo was third.

Gantz continues his unbeaten streak in the Figure 8 division this season.

This Saturday night the ASA Late Model Series North will be at Rockford Speedway for the “King of Rockford” 100. The Bargain Hunter Sportsman, Coca-Cola Roadrunners, SuperCups and the Illini Racing Series Open Wheel Midgets will also be racing. The action will get underway at 7:07 pm.
