Wednesday, September 26, 2007 (Loves Park, IL) – Rockford Speedway officials have confirmed that seven-time track champion, Bobby Wilberg, will return to this weekend's 42nd Annual Chicago International Trucks National Short Track Championship and compete in six divisions over the three days.

Wilberg will be driving Jon Reynolds Sr.'s late model and his Barracuda this weekend. "Heck, I don't know what year that car is," Wilberg stated when asked about the 'Cuda. "All I know is that Jon asked me to drive it and I said why not."

Wednesday, September 26, 2007 (Loves Park, IL) – For the past two years, Johnny Senerchia has been the headline driver of the Mid-American Stock Car Series at the Rockford Speedway in Love’s Park, IL. Senerchia, who’s absence was well noticed in the Spring Opener will return to Rockford this Sunday, September 30th to defend his Chicago International National Short Track Championships feature win.

Wednesday, September 19, 2007 (Loves Park, IL) – Ryan Carlson really enjoys racing in his backyard. He also can't wait for the 42nd Annual Chicago International Trucks National Short Track Championships to start on September 28-30th at the Rockford Speedway.

The Loves Park, IL native has enjoyed his past experiences at the famed weekend racing event. In 2005, he captured the Northern Late Model 150-lap feature win along with a second place finish in the ASA Late Model Series 100-lap event and in 2006, won one of the two Big 8 series 75-lap feature events.

Tuesday, September 18, 2007 (Loves Park, IL) – Last year, Jeremy Lepak of Wausau, WI saw a personal dream come true, to win at the National Short Track Championships at the Rockford Speedway. This year, Lepak will return try to repeat what he did last year.

“Oh yeah, we are definitely coming back,” Lepak recently stated in a passing conversation at The Milwaukee Mile. In fact, last year when he won he even stated, “One way or another we will find a race car.”

Thursday, September 13, 2007 (Loves Park, IL) – Rockford Speedway officials have announced that 1984 National Short Track Champion, Al Schill, will return to the historic event on September 28-30th. Schill will be looking for his second NSTC championship in the National Short Track Super Late Model 200-lap event on Sunday afternoon, September 30th.

Wednesday, September 12, 2007 (Loves Park, IL) – In 2006 Matt Merrell and his team called Rockford Speedway to make sure that the National Short Track Championships were still on even though the weather forecast was questionable. That was on Wednesday, when they got word the race was going to happen, Merrell and his team embarked on a twenty plus hour voyage to the northern Illinois facility that helped build names like Mark Martin, Dick Trickle, Rusty Wallace, Jamie McMurray and Clint Bowyer.

Rockford, IL- (Spl.) - Rockford Speedway has set Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 25, 26 and 27, as the dates for the 33rd Annual Winston National Short Track Championships.

The feature event for the traditional post-season stock car 'happening" will be the NASCAR RE-MAX Challenge Series 300 on Sunday the 27th.

All of Rockford's NASCAR Winston Racing Series divisions will take part in the "one great racing weekend" along with many other classes yet to be announced.
