Portage, WI- A large contingent of asphalt tracks unanimously selected the S800 Hoosier Racing Tire for use at their tracks for classes utilizing eight inch tires during the 2013 and 2014 race seasons. The tire which offers a stiffened sidewall has provided great results at tracks ¼ mile in length up to 5/8 mile in length under racing conditions.

“All of us at Hoosier are excited to be part of the action at these great tracks.” Stated Hoosier Racing Tire’s Irish Saunders. “This is big for racing in the greater Wisconsin area and we are glad to be part of it.” Seven of the tracks switching to the S800 have had previous events contested on tires from the 800 family and will now take advantage of the stiffer construction this season and beyond.

The Bahama Bracket Nationals were postponed for two weeks due to weather, now sunny skies are set to welcome nearly two hundred racers this Saturday and Sunday October 27-28. For twenty one years the fifty lap championship feature winners have had to make a choice in victory lane, take the award money or a trip for two to the Bahamas. With upwards of six brackets, consisting of all types of racing machines grouped together by speed, it is not uncommon to see two and three wide racing around the quarter mile facility. Racing begins at 6pm on Saturday night and noon on Sunday afternoon. Saturday admission prices are $12 for adults, $8 for students (ages 12-17), $5 for ages 6-11 and kids 5 and under are free. Adult tickets are $15 for Sunday, students $10, ages 6-11 are $5 with kids 5 and under once again being admitted at no charge. For additional information visit www.rockfordspeedway.com or contact the Speedway Box Office at 815-633-1500. This is the final event of 2012 and your last chance to see some short track auto racing before the snow flies, don’t miss it.
