Music comes back to May! The Concert is a two-day event that features two types of music…country and rock, May 13th and 14th at Rockford Speedway! Friday’s Country lineup will consist of Phil Vassar and Darryl Worley. Saturday’s Rock lineup will include Sick Puppies, Nonpoint, Black Stone Cherry, Pop Evil, Adelita’s Way, My Darkest Days, Taddy Porter, The Last Vegas, Egypt Central and Scarlet Haze.
“The spring of 2010 seemed rather empty without The X putting on a concert and we felt that we needed to do something in 2011. The Concert is something that I believe is unprecedented in any radio market. It is one event with two different nights, Country and Rock and has two different radio groups supporting it. Along with several partners and the support of Mayor Darryl Lindberg, we are extremely pleased to be able to bring a low cost ticket price to an area that could certainly use some great entertainment,” says Jim Stone, Operations Manager and daily host on WXRX 104.9FM.
“When both radio companies came together with the Rockford Speedway and the City of Loves Park and compared notes, we realized the potential for an incredible community experience if everyone worked as a team. It seemed natural to take it to two consecutive dates with ‘Q98.5's Night of Country’ on Friday, May 13th and ‘WXRX’s Day of Rock’ on Saturday May 14th! When Jim Stone and I were able to confirm fan favorites Phil Vassar and Darryl Worley for ‘Rockford’s Night of Country’ at the Rockford Speedway for only $15 a ticket, we knew we had just created one heck of a party any music fan would love! The caliber of entertainers for this ticket price is very unique," quoted Steve Summers of Q98.5.
