LOVES PARK, IL (Wednesday, April 16, 2008) – Last year, it came down to the final lap, but it will continue into 2008 as “The People’s Champion” Jerry Gille will be looking for seven-time defending track champion, Ricky Bilderback, and will attempt to remove him from his throne. Gille’s quest will start this Saturday night with the 61st Annual Coca-Cola Season Opener for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series at Rockford Speedway.

LOVES PARK, IL (Sunday, April 13, 2008) – 16-year-old Michael Bilderback looked like a season veteran has he would go wire-to-wire and capture his second Big 8 Series presented by Gandrud Chevrolet feature win at the 31st Annual Spring Classic presented by Yellowbook at the Rockford Speedway. Matt Byrne would come home second with defending Big 8 Series Champion, Jeremy Miller in third.

LOVES PARK, IL (Sunday, April 13, 2008) – Lyle Nowak captured the season opening event for the Mid-American Series at Rockford Speedway’s 31st Annual Spring Classic presented by Yellowbook. It was Nowak’s second Spring Classic win in three years, as he captured the 2006 win.

LOVES PARK, IL (Sunday, April 06, 2008) – Dale Markham’s move to the high side of the Rockford Speedway proved to be the winning groove as he drove off to win the WXRX 104.9FM Stone & Double T 200 Enduro this afternoon. The Enduro was the first racing event of the 61st season at the Speedway.

LOVES PARK, IL (Thursday, April 3, 2008) – One of the unique things about the Big 8 Series presented by Gandrud Chevrolet is the variety of drivers a fan will see at any of their 2008 events. You will see drivers with multiple track championships all the way to a young 14-year-old driver who surprised many last year at the Oktoberfest season finale.

That young driver is Ross Kenseth, the son of 2003 NASCAR Champion Matt Kenseth.

Loves Park, IL (Sunday, March 30, 2008) – The 61st season of racing at the Rockford Speedway will open April 5-6 at the famed Loves Park, IL facility. The weekend will include an open practice and Media Day on Saturday, April 5th and a 200-lap 4-cylinder Enduro on Sunday, April 6th.

For the first time in 2008, the sound of engines will erupt on Saturday, April 5th for an open practice session for all divisions competing this season at quarter-mile high-banked oval. The track will be opened from Noon until 4 p.m.

ROCKFORD SPEEDWAY INTRODUCES ITS NEW WEBSITE

LOVES PARK, IL (Wednesday, March 26, 2008) – During the off-season, many race teams will be working on their cars and are getting ready to debut their new cars including a new paint scheme, body style, etc. Rockford Speedway has done this with their website and is proud to announce the debut of their revamped website.

Loves Park, IL (Tuesday, February 26, 2008) – The promoters say this is NOT your average county fair demolition derby and it's nothing that you ever have seen. Darkhorse Racing will be putting on two great demos at the Rockford Speedway on Sunday, May 4th and Saturday, October 25 starting at 1 p.m. each day as big time demolition derby action returns to the famous track after a long hiatus.

Just about anything with four wheels will be competing. Everything
from Super Modifieds (any make, model and year of full-sized cars,
1970 and newer only), fast and frantic compact cars (4 or 6 cyl,
105" wheel base or smaller), to their Urban Assault Vehicles (trucks, vans, mini vans SUV's and Suburbans.

The carnage will feature the wildest drivers doing battle for over $1,000 in prize money.
