Loves Park, IL- Rockford Speedway is bringing back a fan favorite to provide affordable family fun. NASCAR Hometown Nights makes its return to the action packed high banks of Rockford Speedway for the 2011 NASCAR Season. Throughout the 2011 season, residents of neighboring townships will receive 2 for 1 admission on specified nights. Fans should keep their eyes open for the NASCAR Hometown Nights posters to be placed throughout their town.

Dale Nottestad, Cambridge, Wis; showed patience when many others didn't, biding his time and picking off cars to get to the front before putting it on cruise control and never looking back on the way to victory lane. Pictured with Dale is Speedway CEO Jody Derry and series flagman.

Throughout the day race fans saw close racing action making for action packed racing.

Out of the 25 Big 8 cars in the pits today at Rockford for Spring Classic practice, stop watches unofficially had Kyle Jarlsberg and Ryan Carlson atop the speed charts with defending Rockford Speedway Track Champion Tim Sargent coming on strong during the final minutes of testing. All told over 30 Big 8 cars are expected to fight for top honors in the 108 lap feature tomorrow (Sunday), qualifying 11:15 FIRST BIG RACE 1pm.

Rockford, IL- The 34th annual Spring Classic will take center stage this Sunday afternoon at Rockford Speedway with a 1pm start time, officially marking the start of short track racing in the upper Midwest. Engines have been roaring all week in preparation for this marquee event which will feature the top drivers from weekly short tracks in Wisconsin and Illinois as the Big 8 Late Model Series presented by Gandrud Chevrolet as well as the Mid-American Stock Car Series begin their seasons at the high banked quarter mile paved oval.
