LOVES PARK, Ill. (Saturday, August 13th, 2011) -- Mother Nature had her way today, raining down on the Rockford area and forcing the cancellation of tonight's racing program at the Rockford Speedway. Heavy cells of precipitation have occupied much of the vicinity throughout the afternoon and more inclement weather is expected this evening.

Racing fans don't have to wait long to whet their appetite for speed as the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series returns to the high banks of the legendary speed plant next Saturday night with a full slate of action. On tap are the Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models featuring a tense duel at the top of the standings between rivals Ryan Carlson and two-time division champ Jerry Gille as well as the tumultuous Budweiser American Short Trackers. The Mtn Dew RoadRunners will also be in action as well as the Illini Midgets plus the Sam's Drive-In RoadRunner Challenge featuring the Driver Bike Race.

Deanna Chandler, Machesney Park, Illinois claimed the INEX Bandoleros 8-lap championship feature. By starting the main event, the 12-year-old Chandler clinched the championship title for 2011.

Loves Park, IL- As the weekly racing season begins to wrap up at area tracks, attention is beginning to turn towards the 46th annual National Short Track Championships taking place Friday September 30 through Sunday October 2 at Rockford Speedway. Twelve divisions will make up ‘One Great Racing Weekend’. The ASA Midwest Tour Super Late Models will headline the three day race weekend as they contest a 200 lap feature event on Sunday afternoon. LOVES PARK, Ill. (Wednesday, August 10th, 2011) -- Anthony Lloyd had waited a long time for this; so had Terrance Robinson. On the final Wild Wednesday of the year at the legendary Rockford Speedway, Robinson rolled to a comfortable victory, his first in three years, while Lloyd landed the statuesque trophy awarded to the Mtn Dew RoadRunners Super Summer Series titlist with a sixth place finish.

Wild Wednesday Championship Night saw Kyle Voss grab the Allison Legacy crown while 13-year-old Cory Cootware snagged the Legends hardware. In the Bandits, Jason Dull registered a dominant championship effort as Steve McBride rounded out a solid night for his family with the checkers. Earlier in the evening, McBride's wife, Mary, took down the Winged Women on Wheels title while Olivia Chance prevailed in the main event.

With over 20-plus trucks, vans, cars, and an assortment of other vehicles towing trailers, fans were certainly treated to a spectacular show in the main event of the evening's program, the Kar Korner World Famous Figure 8 Trailer Race used some deft maneuvers to outlasted everyone to collect the hardware for his trophy case.

A full house of race fans of all ages were treated to an evening of great racing and of couse the World Famous Figure 8 Trailer Race.

LOVES PARK, Ill. (Saturday, August 6th, 2011) -- Jerry Gille's certainly got a knack for late season charges and the two-time Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models champion made his presence known with a division-leading fifth visit to the winner's circle tonight at the Rockford Speedway. Gille snagged a second consecutive trophy after surviving a mayhem-filled 30-lap main event that got the carnage started well before the evening's closing act, the Kar Korner World Famous Figure 8 Trailer Race.

With an enthused crowd cheering him on in victory lane, Gille stepped up to the plate and didn't mince words when asked about his top rival, points leader Ryan Carlson.

LOVES PARK, Ill. (Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011) -- Anthony Lloyd is swiftly making a habit out of navigating to victory lane in 2011 -- the hotshoe collected his third win of the season and second on Wild Wednesday en route to the Mtn Dew RoadRunner Super Summer Series trophy after fending off a charge from Bobby Frisch. In the process, Lloyd extended his Wild Wednesday points lead to 11 markers over Frisch with just one week remaining.

In other action, Tim Dickson went wire-to-wire for the Bandits win while Tim Roach rolled to the overall Misfits victory. Ben Schaitel and Dave Cooter also snagged Misfits division wins while Mary McBride's reign atop the Winged Women on Wheels came to an end when Olivia Chance worked her way by her and held on for the checkers.

Deanna Chandler took the INEX Bandoleros trophy while Josh Thiering scored his second consecutive National Figure 8 League victory to close out the evening.

Mtn Dew RoadRunners points leader Alex Papini, Machesney Park, Illinois, wasted no time moving from his sixth place starting spot into the lead to bring home a victory in the 20-lap headliner.

LOVES PARK, Ill. (Saturday, July 30th, 2011) -- The kid doesn't even have a driver's license; that wasn't enough to stop 15-year-old Erik Jones tonight though as the young gun survived a late restart with six circuits remaining to capture the 20th running of the JEGS/CRA All-Star Tour 'All-Star 100' presented by Stanley Steemer and wear the legendary wreath at the Rockford Speedway. With the win, Jones' first in the series, the teenager joins the growing ranks of past legends that have claimed the checkers in the 'All-Star 100' including hallowed names that seared themselves into memory like Allison, Shear, Trickle, and Martin.
