LOVES PARK, IL (Saturday, May 16, 2009) – When Ricky “the Rocket” Bilderback was asked before the season how many feature wins he thought he would accumulate at Rockford Speedway in 2009, his answer was ten. After grabbing his second Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Model feature win of the young season, Bilderback may well be on his way there. Bilderback cruised to an easy victory in front of a packed house as rookie Kyle Lapier and John Logan Jr. brought home the night’s other feature events.

Last season in the Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Model division at the Rockford Speedway, eight of the top 10 drivers in the final point standings would score a feature win in the ultra-competitive premier division at the high-naked quarter mile. One of the two drivers left out of the victory circle last season was 3rd place points man Jon Reynolds Jr. After finishing second on opening week to seven-time Track Champion Ricky Bilderback, you figured it wouldn't be long before Reynolds found the checkers.

LOVES PARK, IL (Saturday, May 2, 2009) – Many people consider the number seven to be lucky but for Ricky Bilderback, the lucky number is eight, as in eight NASCAR Late Model championships at the historic Rockford Speedway. The 43-year-old Rockton native is sitting on seven championships entering the 2009 season and an eighth would give Bilderback the most titles in the history of the premiere division at the Rockford Speedway, a history that spans 62 years and counting.

On Whelen's Night of Champions at Rockford Speedway Saturday night, the racing fans of the Forest City were treated to some of the best hard-nosed, door-to-door racing of the 2008 season on the historic quarter mile oval. It was a proper way to bring the curtain down on one of the most competitive seasons in the Speedway 's 61 year history, where each division would see anywhere from seven to ten different winners!

The numbers are against Ricky Bilderback.

With only a week left in the regular season at Rockford Speedway, the seven-time and defending track champion in the Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models is 73 points out of the points lead and all but locked out in his drive for his 8th straight championship. But that doesn't mean Bilderback still can't show the rest of the field how it's done from time to time. The Rockton driver blasted from his fifth starting spot to the lead in only 2 laps to take his division-leading fourth feature win on Saturday night at Rockford Speedway.
