Despite the persistence of winter, on-track activity at Rockford Speedway is just one month away!
With that in mind, Rockford Speedway officials have released the Rules and Entry Form for the season-opening WXRX 200 lap enduro featuring four-cylinder cars, which takes place on Saturday afternoon April 7 at 1 PM.
The four cylinder endurance race features 200 laps of wide open racing action, with the first 100 circuits to be contested on the oval track, while the final 100 laps will take place on the tricky “Monza” course (conditions permitting).
This year’s event offers a $500 top prize and offers hundreds of dollars in bonuses for the following: Best Appearing Car, Highest Finishing Station Wagon, Highest Finishing Automatic Transmission, Highest Finishing Driver under 18 years old and Highest Finishing Driver over 55 years old PLUS new bonuses for a randomly selected driver not among the Top 20 finishers ($50) and a $50 Hard Luck Bonus.
Rockford Speedway officials are also pleased to announce a new addition to the 2018 slate, the “Town Fair 200” for 4 cylinder cars on Sunday afternoon June 3 at 1 PM. An entry form and more information on this new event will be released in the weeks to come. The Town Fair 200 becomes the third enduro to be held at Rockford Speedway during the year, joining April’s WXRX 200 and October’s Goblin 250.
A complete schedule for the 2018 Rockford Speedway racing season is set to be released on Friday evening.
