NSTC FRIDAY WASHED OUT AT ROCKFORD SPEEDWAY

September 27, 2019

LOVES PARK, IL – With showers this morning and hard rain forecast for the rest of the afternoon and evening, Rockford Speedway officials cancelled the Friday portion of the 54th NSTC.  Unique divisions will be incorporated into the rest of the weekend.  Grandstand tickets for Friday may be redeemed for a Rockford Speedway credit toward tickets, food or souvenirs.  The Rockford Speedway Miller Lite Pavilion will open at 3pm for bench racing.  NSTC 250 sponsor, Crazy Time Pub & Grub is offering a buy one, get one half off burger special for fans who bring in anything from the Rockford Speedway’s NSTC today and all weekend long.

The scheduled Saturday divisions will be joined by the Sportsmen, Roadrunners and Sixers.  The Bandits will race on Sunday with the Mid-Am Stock Cars and Super Late Models.  The Saturday pit gate will open at 7:30am with technical inspection beginning at 8am and practice at 10am.  Qualifying will remain at 2:15pm with the first race event scheduled for 5pm.

Championship Sunday, pits open at 8am with qualifying at 11:05am and first race starting at 1pm.  The on-track fan photo and autograph session at 12:05pm Sunday is still on the schedule.  The Super Late Models, Mid-Am Stock Cars and now Bandits are all on the schedule.  The Must See Sprint Cars cancelled their NSTC appearance last night due to long distance travel and weather concerns.  Fans are encouraged to keep their NSTC Sunday ticket stubs for a $5 discount for the Must See Sprint Cars’ next Rockford Speedway appearance.

The Weekly Warrior Late Model event for Friday will be cancelled while all those competitors compete in the Big8 108 Saturday night.  The American Short Tracker event will be incorporated into the Midwest Compact Dash Series Saturday night.  Both feature events will have an increased payoff.

“With an event such as this, flexibility is essential,” stated Rockford Speedway’s David Deery.  “We will work with teams and fans to give them the most complete and best show possible.  With the addition of more divisions to the Saturday and Sunday schedule, this year’s NSTC may be even better than we first thought.”Fans can still purchase Saturday and Sunday tickets at the Rockford Speedway office in the corner of the Forest Hills Lodge all day today.  For the most up to the minute information, follow Rockford Speedway on Facebook.
